This week, here in Indonesia, we will have Indonesian Linux Conferences. Me and Yofie was invited to have some Firefox OS workshop on the event. Since the location will be held in Sinjai and to go there, we will passing by Makassar, we though, why not help meetup with mozillians from there. Just say hi and share latest updates from Mozilla. Also talk about the possibility to became contributors to various Mozilla’s products. Or just to spead the awesome missions we have.
So there it is, we talk about offline maker party held last month in Jakarta. We also talk about recent Firefox OS phone launched in India. We also have group photo! :D. Oh, we also showcase 3 Firefox OS devices: Keon, Flame, and the Firefox Tablet.
There are questions from participants related to reps program and also Firefox OS. One guy asked us why is reps only available in Java island? You know, Indonesia is pretty big archipelago country. Well… This is one big problem we (reps in Indonesia) have right now. I told them that recruiting more reps from outside of Indonesia is one or our priority. So, I emphasis this, again, that we are open to anyone who would like to contribute to our cause. Having reps in another island is a big plus, because they can have more maker party, meetups, localizing events, etc, without relying on reps from another island. They can help accelerate spreading Mozilla’s mission for open internet.
Next questions was about Firefox OS and accessibility access for dissabled people. For this one, I told them that I can’t give the right anwer at that time, due to limited knowledge on my side. I promised them that I will ask guys from Mozilla, who is more capable on answering this, because I don’t want to mislead them. So, stay tuned, will update this blog with the right answer.
