As a Web-based email, gmail was cool. However, with the added features of gmail labs, it is now beyond awesomeness!. Lots of additional features that can be activated through google labs. Starting from 'time killer' game to feature that is greatly increases productivity.
Here are some VERY important gmail labs features for me. Listed in no particular order:
- Google Docs Previews In Mail.

Almost every day I exchanged emails with attachments in the form of word or excel document. This feature is very helpful in reducing the digital junk on my laptop. Simply look in your browser, without need to download the documents first.
- Fixed Width Font.

I participate in many programming languages mailing list. Many times I have to send an email that contains snippets of source code. This feature is very useful in formatting code so much easier to read.
- Tweak signature.

This feature allows you to remove the barrier signature'--'.
- Default 'Reply to all'.

This feature is very useful when you need to respond to emails that have a lot of TO and CC. By default, gmail reply on to main sender (the 'FROM' field). the other TO and CC will be ignored.
- Authentication icon for verified senders.

In my work online, I often receive a payment through paypal. However, many fake emails that attempt to deceive in the name of an email from paypal. This feature works by adding the 'verified' icon if the sender is genuine. For now, this feature is only useful for emails from paypal and amazon.
- Inbox preview.

If you were in the area with very slow internet connection and want to see the inbox to see if there is new mail or not. This feature will be very helpful. Because, you do not need to wait until loading is complete. New emails in your inbox will be displayed on the page loading. If it turns out there is nothing new, you can close gmail without having to wait for loading to complete.
- Undo Send

This is my MOST IMPORTANT feature. Very useful if you are the type of person who often do typo. Or, when you forgot a tiny detail when sending email. This way, you don't have to send another email explaining that.
