Directory notes, is a little hidden feature of nautilus. Using it, you will be able to write down a note about anything you want to write in particular directory. To access it, all you have to do is:
- Load up the nautilus.
- Locate the side pane, if it’s not in the left side of nautilus, you can go to View » Check the Side Pane or hit F9 to bring it back.
- Locate the button on the upper left of Side Pane. By default, it’s displaying Places
- Click it, then choose Notes.
- You are ready to go. Write down anything you want in that particular directory.
Once you’ve written notes, nautilus will automatically add emblem to that particular directory.
