Minggu-minggu terakhir ini saya sering banget download film via torrent. Sebagai orang Indonesia yang gak terlalu jago listening english, otomatis butuh subtitle dong. Nah, dulu, ketika butuh subtitle tujuan utama pasti google dulu. Tapi, sulitnya cari di google itu, sering kali subtitle yang ditemui tidak cocok dengan film yang ada. Kadang terlalu cepat, kadang terlalu lambat. Istilahnya, gak singkron antara suara dengan subtitle yang keluar. Solusinya bisa aja sih di singkronkan pake software2 subtitle yang banyak beredar di Internet (kalau pakai windows) atau tinggal apt-get install.
Ubiquity
I forgot since when did I install this firefox extensions. Because from time to time I always got new ubiquity extension update notification. Up until several days ago, I still don't really know the full capacity of it. All I know is CRTL+SPACE invoke it's window. Taken from the main site
Ubiquity is an experiment into connecting the Web with language in an attempt to find new user interfaces that make it possible for everyone to do common Web tasks more quickly and easily. It's a Firefox extension, so it works on Macs, Windows, and Linux.
With only a couple keystrokes, it lets you use language to instruct your browser. You can translate to and from most languages, add maps to your email, edit any page, twitter, check your calendar, search, email your friends, and much more. All without leaving the page you're on.

If you are frequent reader in this blog, you may know that I'm an amarok user. You may ask, why a gnome user use amarok as it's music player. Well, up until now (or yesterday to be exact) I don't find a good and intuitive UI that match my need. All player that I tried either have too much feature that make it's UI very complicated or it doesn't have a good way to manage play-list the way I want. While the other have GUI that use skin that I don't feel comfortable using it. Yeah, I'm talking about xmms and the like of it.
Memvisualisasikan hasil TraceRoute
Penasaran gimana sih paket traceroute itu berjalan di network? Sekarang tidak lagi dengan layanan dari You Get Signal. Website yang satu ini punya cara memvisualisasikan proses traceroute kedalam google map. Hasilnya lumayan keren walau kebenaran-nya masih bisa di debat. Maklum, IP kan bisa dipindah2 dari satu komputer ke komputer diseluruh dunia. But hey, It's quite awesome!. Silahkan dilihat dan dicoba-coba sendiri deh.
Dreamhost Apps
Pagi ini baca-baca google reader, eh ada posting baru dari blog dreamhost bicara soal layanan barunya dreamhost, yaitu: Dreamhost Apps. Apa itu dreamhost app? ini adalah layanan aplikasi gratis dari dreamhost untuk orang-orang yang gaptek. Well, mirip lah seperti fantastico-nya CPanel kalau kalian pernah pakai. Hanya saja, ini FREE.
Sebenarnya saya sendiri sudah punya hosting space di dreamhost. Tapi, namanya orang IT yang sering berkutat dengan internet, kata penasaran dengan layanan baru pasti ada dong 
. Saya coba liat-liat sebentar, hmm... bisa pakai subdomain *.dreamhosters.com, bisa juga hosting domain sendiri. Mikir-mikir sebentar, aha, sepertinya bisa pake co.cc nih, dari pada bayar 
. Memang sih gratisan itu norak, tapi tetap aja asik 
. Sip2, register domain di co.cc, lalu register account di dreamhostapps.com. Wah, ciamik tenan, begitu register langsung dikasih blog, forum, wiki, galeri poto, dan drupal. Paten banget dah!. Eh, ada bonusnya lho, otomatis dikasih google apps (calendar, email, iGoogle, dll). Makin PATEN!.
Eh, tapi ada catatan, layanan ini masih beta, jadi hanya bisa registrasi by invitation (katanya sih), anehnya untuk dapat invitation gak perlu submit email dulu, tapi cukup pantengin aja entry blog di dreamhost tentang layanan baru ini. Di comment pertama ada invitation code yang di update secara berkala untuk menghilangkan code-code yang sudah dipakai. Ayo, cepetan daftar sebelum invitation code-nya habis . Selain itu, karena masih beta, expect some error

Just discovered it yesterday when reading my Google Reader. It came from getdeb. What's so special with this one? well, you can chat with your facebook friends without opening up browser windows. You can chat just the way you used to be when chatting on pidgin.
