Startup folder in KDE

Today well learn how to do automatic application invocation through startup folder in KDE. Here's the steps:

  1. We need to know where is our startup folder, so go to control center.
  2. In Control center, go to System Administration>>Paths. Here you'll find our startup folder or in KDE is Autostart
  3. Now, go to file manager. In this case I use konqueror. go to your home folder. Under view menu check Show Hidden Files.
  4. Now go to the Autostart folder.
  5. Right click there, and point to Create New >> Link to Application...
  6. In General tab, fill the only textbox with out application name or whatever you like.
  7. Now head to Application tab. Fill in Name, Description, and Comment with information about our application. And Command is where our application's executable file reside.
  8. There's no other step you need to do except, if you want to try this out by logout and login again.

That's it, you have learn how to invoke your application from startup folder and you've also learn how to create shortcut.
